Mr Aimilios Chalamandaris

Mr Aimilios Chalamandaris is Managing Director at Innoetics Ltd and member of the Speech Synthesis Team, Institute for Language and Speech Processing, Athena R.C.

Mr Chalamandaris will argue that although speech synthesis is a research field that has been active for more than a century, it is only rather recently that it took a big leap with the fusion of AI algorithms and the availability of abundant computing power. Modern speech synthesis is largely dependent on AI, both at the linguistic level (notably for text processing and the normalization of input text) and at the signal processing level. In fact, nearly all speech synthesis paradigms already employ machine learning components or have been recently re-casted in such terms. Innoetics' high-end text-to-speech technologies and systems heavily rely on AI to achieve near-natural speech and boost their performance.
