Panel Discussion on Industrial Applications of AI

Description
Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques are now being used in various practical applications, such as data mining, content management, speech processing, machine vision, search engines, etc. Greek industry involves several companies exploiting AI techniques.
The aim of this panel discussion is to present the current status and plans with respect to the industrial applications of AI techniques, emphasising on the Greek industry. For this purpose, the panel involves representatives from Greek companies as well as experts in specific AI application areas. Among others, with a focus on the Greek industry, the session will:
- discuss the present situation,
- identify significant application areas,
- examine possibilities of collaboration between the industry and the public sector,
- discuss the relation of industry with Universities and Research Institutes,
- discuss issues related to the better exploitation of AI research results.
The session will be organised in two parts, each part involving experts and company representatives in specific application areas (to be announced as soon as the panelists are confirmed). The 2nd part will be followed by a summing up talk by the session chair. The aim is to have a largely interactive session between the panelists and the audience.
